![]() ![]() The game is CALLED Ooblets, and for good reason. Of course any game with farming as a primary mechanic is going to feel cozy, but when little creatures sprout from seeds you planted, of course "cozy" isn't all you're getting.Ģ. ![]() The game is weird, silly, charming, and much more. ![]() Let me get one think clear, this game doesn't simply come off as 'cozy.' Describing it simply by that one term isn't fair to the energy the developers created. Here are the multiple factors that drive me to recommend this game to ANYONE:ġ. Since I'm super autistic, I'm not skimping on the details. ![]() I'd say that Ooblets fits under this category, but as a glowing example of what I WANT with this experience. I've seen a lot of (valid) criticism surrounding what people call "cozy games." Games that you play at your own pace, often involve entirely low-stress encounters, and piggyback off of the 'cozy' aesthetic. If you like the above mentioned games, you'll likely love this. I bought it on PC to play back through after logging more than 400 in-game-days on switch. Other reviews have made accurate comparisons to Animal Crossing, Pokemon, Stardew / while being nothing like those titles at the same time. It is not like anything I have ever played before, while also feeling familiar. After seeing some other comments on the discord and reddit, I came to the conclusion this was not their intended tone. I could respect going with epic for the money, but the attempt at joking about installing the launcher was instead frankly rude. That passive aggressive commentary was enough that I actually stopped playing for awhile. The only cons would be the lack of save data transfer from the switch, and the devs post about why they didn't come to steam at the OG launch. (I was unwilling to install the epic launcher just for this title, so I waited) I played through this on the switch first, and I was delighted to finally have it on PC. ![]()
